We've had good success in keeping the interior brightwork clean with
Murphy's Oil Soap. Color... not much to be done about that except to
recommend covering the portlights, etc. when you're not aboard.
Sunlight will bleach any teak over time.

Bed the plate and screws in caulk and you're set.
