My understanding is that the "theoretical" hull speed for a Baba 30 is
about 6.5 knots. Who knows how accurate that is? We've also sailed
Mandisa at close to 7 knots and it was a really fun ride. One has to
consider current when thinking about boat speed which is why I'm sorry
that our knot meter is broken. The GPS just gives speed over the bottom.

I believe that one of the old Baba Salt magazines has an article about a
boat (Lord Magic?) that crossed the pacific and, as I recall, there was
some discussion of an average days distance. I think it's on the
babaowners.org website.
