I installed one, but almost hesitate to make a suggestion or we will wake up
the galley wench, so lets hope she is baking cookies again or trying to
figure out why her holding tank smells.

 

Anyhow back to business, the gen set I installed went into the stern, fits
nicely behind the rudder shaft and puts out 140 AMPS DC, enough energy to
run the water maker and charge the batteries at the same time. It is a
single cylinder Kubota. Photos and details available upon request.

After last summer's heat in the Chesapeake (surrounded by sea nettles, there
was no way to cool off except going to a dock and plugging in...), we are
contemplating a diesel generator. Has anyone with a Baba 40 installed one,
what brand did you pick and where did you put it?
