Radius fittings or "sweeps" need a lot more room than elbows, and often
there just isn't room for 'em...you have to use elbows. And they're ok,
provided you make sure to move bowl contents ALL the way through the
system--into the tank, or out the thru-hull--and keep the hoses well
flushed out (more on how to do that without filling up a tank with flush
water in a minute). If you have the room for sweeps, SeaLand has 'em:

Now...about keeping the plumbing clean without filling up the tank: most
people aren't aware that any manual marine toilet that's working
anywhere near spec can move bowl contents 6' (4+ vertically, to get over
the top of a vented loop) in the "dry" mode...so they use the wet mode
almost exclusively except to pump the last of the water out of the bowl.
  You can not only keep the plumbing clean, but at least double the
number of flushes your tank can hold if you'll do it this way instead:

Ahead of use, pump only a couple of times in the wet mode to wet the
bowl. Add 2-3 cups of water from the sink ahead of solids. Switch to dry
to move the bowl contents all the way to the tank or out the "door" over
board--or at least over the top of any loop so gravity can do the
rest....back to wet for only 3-4 pumps to bring in enough "rinse"
water...back to dry again to move that ALL the way through the system or
at least over the top of any loop. Before the boat will sit, pump a
couple of quarts of water all the way through...follow that with a
cupful of undiluted white vinegar--also pumped all the way through.
Result: toilet pump and hoses that'll be free of anything that can clog
it and also free of sea water mineral buildup.
