All piping is susceptible to mineral buildup. It can be prevented with a
weekly 1-cup dose of undiluted white vinegar flushed down the
toilet...just be sure to flush it ALL the way through the system...it
doesn't do any good otherwise, and should not be left sitting in the bowl.
A serious case can even be dissolved with repeated cupfuls of white
vinegar daily....or a single flush of a 12% solution of muriatic acid in
water. If you opt for the acid, be sure to follow ALL directions for
handling and use VERY carefully.
And btw, white vinegar is safe to use in a Lectra/San...in fact, can
extend the time between cleaning the electrodes.
