[baba] Windlass on a Baba-30

I have checked out the installation of a Lofrans Tigres on a Baba 30. I
have a Baba 30 with an anchor well (which is the way most are configured)
with a removable grate.

The Tigres will fit easily on the bowsprit. The forward two bolts will go
through the bowsprit itself. The Tigres will be a couple of inches forward
of the sampson post.

The chain feed will be true enough.

The chain holes will need to be moved forward so that there is a straight
drop into the chain locker. So, the old two holes will be filled in. I
will also build a new grate (the old one was cracked anyway).

I am also putting in a deck wash in the anchor well.

The only downside is that should I need to remove the motor cover, I will
have to remove the windlass, since the sampson post will block removal of
the motor cover.

I will have a remote plug in the bow, and in the cockpit and run big power
cable foward.

I will use 150 feet of 1/4" HT (replacing some 1/2 inch stuff I have now -
but only 45 feet).

To check the fit, I used templates that I obtained from Lofrans and also
with the help of Sondora. I printed these out full size, so as to see how
things would lay out.

Alan
