I did the job of adapting the smaller flanged cowl-vents to the existing
dorade boxes with some success and little effort. I used wood veneer used
for cabinet edging-3/4 inch wide or so- and wound it inside the hole coatin=
g
all with epoxy until the inside diameter met the desired fit. Once set hard=
,
I could trim top and bottom and inside as necessary. This new wood also
provided for solid wood for some of the vent mounting screws. The additiona=
l
strength around the hole prevents any splitting of the thin teak of the
boxes as well.
