Hi Rick,
We had a similar question with the added requirement of it being cheap.
We got a plastic step stool at Ace for about $7. It has rubber feet
which keeps it from moving or hurting the teak. Put a cushion on it and
lean back against the Lifesling. It works great! (It also works as a
step into the V berth.)
