Welcom aboard!

We've had our Baba 35 for four years now and have enjoyed her very much.
We have a Volvo MD17 and it has performed quite well. We did have a new
transmission installed last year (our boat's a '79)
along with new shaft and stuffing box. Nothing really too unusual for a=

boat of its vintage. I would echo Rick's thoughts and
have your surveyor give the chain plates a good going over. Short story:=

When we bought our boat we noticed, as did the seller, cracks inside
the cabin around the port lights. The seller's surveyor said that the
"cabin would have to be cut off the repair the damage". The
seller priced the boat accordingly. Amazingly after going over the boat=

stem to stearn our surveyor never even MENTIONED the
cracks. When we questioned him on it his reply was "they lay on the
fiberglass so thick it can crack on the surface... it will never give you=

a problem... just
clean 'em out and epoxy and paint." I think we got a deal.
Don't be dismayed by the many scary threads here... again to echo Rick,=

"it's mostly just boat stuff."

Cheers!
