It's a small project, but I think it's a safety issue in addition to making
the boat look better.
I purchased a set of Ongaro throttle and shift replacement knobs from West
Marine. My exterior helm is the typical Taiwanese Edson knock-off, thus it
is metric. The standard knobs did not fit. This is easily fixed with a
metric tap and tap arm. You need a 1.25 mm-10 tap. I bought mine from my
local hardware store. Some tapping lubricate is handy to use, too.
