I read a review in Practical Sailor that actually tested all three 'Tohatsu' motors. The Tohatsu version came out on top with the Merc a close second. The Nissan was a distant third. Weird. I can attest to at least one account of a Nissan owner who regrets his choice.

I would like to know more about Yamaha outboards. I came across one sailor who had been 'out there' and noticed that most dinks were powered by Yamahas. Anyone else back that up? Our marina guy claims Yamaha outboards are the best, hands down. I don't recall PS's take on Yamaha.
