Any suggestions for an outboard for a Rover 280 HP inflatable.

I am leaning toward a 5hp Honda 4-stroke even though it is 5 pounds heavier
than the a 5 or 6 hp Mercury 4-stroke.

I am told the Mercury is really the same motor as the Nissan and Tohatsu.
Is that so?

These motors have external tank.

My reasons for the Honda is that I like and know the local Annapolis
dealer, Viking, which has a servicing facility etc. and knows the
engine. Apparently, Honda requires all of its engines to be tested in a
tank by the dealier prior to delivery!!

This is better than dealing with West which has no local servicing
capabilities.

Any thoughts??
