I thought I would start a new thread to make it easier to search.
Well I now have the cutless bearing out, but it took 3 days, I had to cut the prop shaft and destroy the stuffing gland. The prop shaft appeard to be heat shrunk into the flange. The stuffing box hose clips were seized and had to be cut off.
I had to hacksaw the cutless bearing out as the stern tube has a flange on the inboard end that stops me getting anything inside to pull it out. Now I need to replace everything, it appears the shaft is 32mm , the cutless bearing is 1 7/8 OD and 4" long. Also for anyone else trying this my stern tube, or more precisely, the Cutless housing has a screw at 3 oclock and at 9 oclock, also there is a very small screw in the bottom. I will post pictures of the whole ordeal on my website soon.
And to John, Praying didnt help, maybe regular church attendance is required!
