Hi Bill,

Mandisa's helm turns about 1.25 turns from amidships. It's probably a
good idea to get someone down in the cockpit locker to check the
steering gear and make sure it's going all the way to the stops.

The Baba 30 isn't the most nimble boat in light air - especially if
there's a swell running. Sometimes a gybe is better, and sometimes (as
Rick Beddoe said) you need a little help from the engine. That said,
take a hard look at your mainsail. It could be the root of your problem.
We recently replaced our mainsail and it's made all the difference in
the world for tacking! Perhaps your sail has crossed the line into old age?
