Unless the potable water tank is leaking, this is not uncommon. Find out if
it is fresh water or salt water... this will help in your search for the
source.

Without seeing the boat, it's hard to guess but keep in mind it's not
uncommon for rainwater to come down the mast and then run past the fuel
tank to the bilge below the engine. If water flow is happening without
rain, I'd suspect a leaking through hull. A leak in the potable water
system should show up as excessive, unexplained cycling by the water
pump as water leaks from the plumbing.
