I have a Walker Bay 8' dinghy (it's injection-molded polypropylene,
rather than fiberglass - virtually indestructible) which stows on the
foredeck upside down. The bow of the dinghy goes over the samson
post, but you can still get to the post by reaching under the dink.
The stern fits between the forward hatch and the dorade boxes. I lash
it down at the bow and both sides of the stern. It does cover the
forward hatch, but the sails clear it OK. I have a 2 hp Honda which
is all it's rated for - also have the sailing kit, which is a lot of
fun.
I doubt if anything larger would fit on the Baba 30. Which is
unfortunate, because the 8' Walker Bay only holds 2 people.
