The previous owner of our boat did a nice job of locating our 4 golf cart
batteries in the bilge in front of the fuel tank. Thanks, Tom and Carolyn.
I also had room for two red top Optima batteries from my diesel Suburban
that were better off in my bilges since I didn't use the old truck for
almost 2 years. I did a good job of securing them and making them easy to
inspect. I cannot remember what other Baba 30's had for battery locations
but having them under the quarter berth doesn't sound as good to me. One
thing about both locations is that it's seems like it is difficult to be
sure the batteries are well vented. One interesting thing would happen when
our solar panels were really cranking out, the Trident Propane sniffer alarm
I put in would go off as they were charging. Do other boats have venting
for the batteries?

What is the bilge area used for? It can get pretty damp below my batteries
if we'vd taken water in our HAWSE PIPES from beating in to bid seas. Our
Heart inverter is under the nav table seat.

We frequently listed each way and our waterline was moved up 1 1/2 inches
and was way too low. Now it is 3" higher than designed.
