Is moving from wood to alum spars really an upgrade? I suppose I would
really like the lower weight aloft but...Maybe it's because I am a
woodworker, but I really like my wood spars. They are so easy to monitor
(inspect/survey), work on, or add fasteners, too. There is the dissimilar
materials thing with wood as well as aluminum but I just saw an alum boom
that was trashed by corrosion around all the stailnless fasteners.
